History
John & Mary Fehr come by their love of people and touring naturally.
As a young man, John Fehr worked as a bus driver for an intercity
bus company, driving through most of rural Manitoba. In 1956, he
ventured as far as Mexico with a tour, which at that time, was something
rarely done. Eventually, he went on to establish himself in an insurance
agency, but never forgot the joy of driving a bus load of people
through the countryside.
In fact, he liked it so much that when Beaver Bus Lines was offered
to him in 1972, he bought the company. In 1979, he established Fehr-Way
Tours which focussed on the touring business. This was the beginning
of an idea that eventually developed into Beaver Bus Lines/ Fehr-Way
Tours, a charter tour and transportation company that has grown with
the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Currently, it has 100
employees and 50 buses.
"Dad has always loved people and touring," says John Fehr Jr., who
is General Manager of Beaver Bus Lines. "He always said his most
comfortable setting was driving a bus, with a group of people behind
him. My mom always supported him in his ventures by working along
side him in the day-to-day operations. Together they did a great
job of promoting our business and putting smiles on peoples faces." Today,
Dale Janzen, President and Diane Fehr, Manager are in charge of the
day-to-day operations of Fehr-Way Tours.
Along with our dedicated family of professional employees at Fehr-Way
Tours Ltd., Beaver Bus Lines Ltd. and Moose Mountain Bus Lines, we
maintain a caring commitment to you - our customer. "Our company
is only as good as our employees, " said Mary Fehr. "Enthusiasm and
dedication are important in our staff. That's what keeps customers
satisfied and coming back." Your trip should be a learning experience
as well as lots of fun.
Beaver Bus Lines is 100% Manitoba owned and operated.
